Sven B. Schreiber This is the debut EP of Samuel Bradley's "Garden" project, and the predecessor of the remarkable full-length album "Somewhere Else". Frankly, it took me some time to get into this music, because it's demanding listening due to its high-volume wall-of-sound character. After getting used to that, I discovered the splendid intrinsic complexity of Samuel Bradley's compositions, and finally started to enjoy them wholeheartedly. It's prog of a somewhat unusual kind - but that's what makes it great. Favorite track: Freya's Song.

Favorite track: Composite Queen.

One night, to stray upon a queen of red by chance One night, to feast upon the fruits of circumstance So late, so long the night, unsettled in your company Three great gates by which to seize the throne, to claim the hooded crown. Come, would-be heroes The many-headed beast beckons in tongues so sweet Come, hydra princess, clawing with hungry hands to recoat its nails with blood in the name of daddy's arms. Under the gaze of a thousand eyes, painted stars in a mind'skye Playing Circle Games, chasing tails, my angel, watching me? Yet here I sit and write with your portrait by my side One face for each moment's antique spite. Where I await the siren, bathing on the shores of heaven to call for me One and all could lead me, singing from the rocks so sweetly where I'm deceived. Bring to me her heart, I need her poetry for mine Sing to me, for once, our melodies combined. You took me out of the circle game for one night and a day What glorious servitude, to serve under you, you took me out with just one look. My mind regresses, staring into my glass, slipping back to the fear of unkown pleasure, of something so sincere. Give me her mind, teach me how to define and be defined. I await the Golden Princess, Close to the VIillage, as her name states. Where I await the siren, bathing on the shores of heaven to call for me One and all could lead me, singing from the rocks so sweetly where I'm deceived. Bring to me her heart, I need her poetry for mine Sing to me, for once, our melodies combined. I need her heart.

North 09:55
I've grown tired of summer sunlight, unaccompanied by the waves and I regress on moonlit pathways, under cover of the rain but if the wind should blow this far, I may let it carry me for a time Somewhere Else, the tide is waiting, but the child awaits a sign I held the winter for so long, long after she had gone and yet long before the trials had ended I've felt her many times since then, now cold against my skin and I may groan, but I'm not grown. I don't regret my ill-considered steps. How then was I to know that they would leave me longing now? I lay to rest my patience with this game. I feel a wind of change. Time marches on, am I left behind by my fears? I'm powerless to change, and nothing else stays the same. Before they're all gone, is it so much to ask for time to stop? All move South, seeking sun amidst the rain, from above a clouded sky. All depart, moving further everyday. Here I'll stay and Northward I will face. I sought my saviour far from home, and swore I heard her call my name, but no siren stirred upon the shoreline. Far from her sainthood, I remain waiting for the dawn that never comes. Save my mind from the memory. Keep its unspoiled image from my spiteful eyes. Save the memory from my mind. Keep its unspoiled image from my spiteful scribe.

Freya's Song 08:51
Freya, my dear, what's on your mind? There's something amiss I can see it in your eyes Don't look that way, don't sound so panicked If you've something to say, then just come out and say it Freya, though you claim that you're not leaving me It's hard to believe, and it's hard not to greive Freya, I don't want to see you die but I don't want to meet the one lost inside I remember a child much less confident than yourself I remember a kiss, I remember a promise well, whatever was said all those years ago must not mean a thing to you and guess what, I don't care and I won't ask for anything from him, not now, not ever, nothing but you Freya I beg you to stop this madness It's not a mask you can remove I can't believe there's no other way to heal your pain Freya I beg you to try and see It's not a mask you can remove Fighting an I for an I is no way to live I can't stand by your side, when you've lived beside yourself this long Was it not I who saved you from your misery Is this my reward? You, and your changing form right before my disbelieving eyes Freya, I don't want to see you die, but I don't want to meet the one lost inside Freya I beg you to stop this madness It's not a mask you can remove I can't believe there's no other way to heal your pain Freya I beg you to try and see What if the rain falls ceaselessly? Here we stand, holding our old lives in our hands What will we be, tomorrow when it comes? What if the rain never ends, and always will fall over you? What if we never reach the rainbow? What if the gold slips through our fingers? What if your sorrows cannot mend? What if the rain falls without end? Now everything's slipping from my grasp, I never want to meet the one behind the mask Freya I beg you to stop this madness It's not a mask you can remove I can't believe there's no other way to heal your pain Freya I beg you to try and see It's not a mask you can remove
